Alright....so had a great first week of exercising, then Saturday we walked at the park in lieu of working out, Sunday I ran out of time since I was in the kitchen baking all afternoon, then worked all day Monday and Tuesday. Today I took a short walk with Oliver this morning and then did my workout this afternoon and I feel great now. I'm already feeling more flexible from all the stretching and I'm excited about getting into a healthy lifestyle. This morning I stocked up on fruits and veggies and it's a fun challenge every day to choose foods and to bake things using little or no sugar and butter. Honey and oil are definitely great substitutes and just make you feel amazing all around. That and the workout are giving me more energy and truly lifting my spirits. I've also been getting more into God's Word as a result of BSF and definitely making good changes in my life.

Simply had a splendid day today, and all because I allowed myself to let go of my fears and embrace God's love. As for my new plan I stayed right on target and pushed myself a little more during my workout.

I'm actually starting to look forward to the whole workout now because it just gives me energy....though while I'm doing it I feel that I'm dying, but still at the end I somehow feel revitalized and ready to take on anything. Which in my household comes in the shape of a wonderful little bundle of energy, otherwise known as Oliver.

We sure had a lot of fun today and getting in shape is great right now since he keeps me on my feet and on my hands and knees an awful lot. But I absolutely love chasing him on all fours and watching as his eyes light up with excitement and he squeals with delight.

Last night I tried a new pizza dough made from whole wheat flour, wheat germ(first time I had used it), honey, yeast and salt. It didn't turn out so well even though I followed the directions exactly. The dough was too dry and just crumbling all over the place. I had to put a good bit of olive oil and work it in and then it didn't rise at all. Still, topped with hamburger beef, pizza sauce, and cheese, it tasted great so I can't complain. Though I definitely won't be making it again.

Tomorrow I will be making pizza with some other young moms and their little ones so I'm just going to stick to a mostly white flour dough that will be a lot easier to work with.

Had to work all day today so didn't get exercise in or do as well with the healthy eating. My end of the day calorie intake was just over 1700 so still good. But I'm looking forward to working out again tomorrow. I really enjoy the warm-up and cool-down and I'm sure that after a time I will look forward to the actual cardio part too!!

That's about all for now, Goodnight!

New Plan

Ok so I decided to start this blog to help me record my progress every day for my new plan. What is this new plan you might ask?

Simply this: To live a healthier life and to shed unwanted post-pregnancy fat.

For as long as I can remember I haven't been completely satisfied with my body and every New Year's I make a resolution to do something about it....that never comes to pass. But I've always been a little below average in regards to weight and with the right clothes I can look pretty good. So you could say I just haven't had the proper motivation to really start a change in my life.

Now that I've had a baby and a c-section my mid area is a mess and though I don't plan on wearing short tops or skimpy bikini's, I do desire to look beautiful for my husband.

He is my world, along with our beautiful son and every day I thank God for bringing Him into my life. So it's now March, but I figured it's never too late to start. My timeline is to make some great progress by our anniversary at the end of May. So I have 3 months and I'm off to a great start.

First I printed off a log to record my calorie intake, water intake, and exercise on a daily basis. Friday I ate normally and by the end of the day and after a lot of calculations (it takes awhile to count calories for homemade food), I had consumed over 3100 calories....OK...Definitely time for a change. I had no idea that was the norm for me.

Saturday I started cutting back and only consumed 1900 but felt so hungry all day. Sunday I only consumed 1566 and worked out- 30 minutes of the Biggest Loser Workout. I felt great!!

My goal is to keep my calorie intake between 1500-1800 and to start with working out 3 times a week and gradually increase to 5 times a week.

I know I can do this....today for the first time in my life (I think), I ate a turkey sandwich with NO CHEESE!!! Just turkey, romaine, and hearty whole-wheat bread and it was delicious.
